About Me

Birkland Boutique

Hi! I'm Lesly Birkland!

Here is the story behind Birkland Boutique

It all started in the corner of our master bedroom in our 1000 sq. ft. apartment. I needed something to focus on as we rebuilt our life from the ground up.

We had just sold our dearly loved home, the one we built, designed, laid the tile in, built the garden in… It was our dream come true home. But as life would have it, we ended up selling it to cover a mound of debt and mistakes. Although thankful for the ability to use it, it didn’t stop the sting of disappointment.

My husband and I ended up back where we started 10 years ago when we first married – in an apartment. This time we had two kids in tow and a cat. My strength, stress and ability to hold my world together was tested daily.

I held on to anger and resentment and wondered what the heck had happened to our lives. Our dreams. How did it all fall apart? Have you ever felt that way?

Little did I know God was building it all back together. This time stronger, sweeter, better in so many ways.

It was a painfully slow process. He took me to deep places of healing to restore my heart. Then He began to restore our marriage, our finances, and He is using this small boutique to do it – it’s been an amazing journey! One I will share more of as time goes on.

Building something brings purpose. It can also distract from things going wrong in our lives.

I used this business to build something beautiful out of the broken pieces of my life.

Each piece of jewelry has a story to tell and each shirt is meant to remind you not to take life to seriously. The jewelry and shirts are meant to meet you in your season and give you strength, inspiration and courage to keep putting one foot in front of the other. Because life is messy and hard, but there is beauty in the chaos. I want you to see the beauty because that is God at work in your life. Seeing and focusing on the beauty is what kept me going. Along with relying on His strength and surrendering everything I had. Ultimately that is how we got to the place we are now.

You don’t have to have what it takes. The ability to fix broken is God’s business. Inviting Him into the brokenness is where healing begins. After healing, there is restoration.

We have to walk through many valleys and scale many a mountain in this life, some figuratively, some physically. I hope this boutique offers you something to hold close offering you peace of mind and strength of heart.

Pick out a necklace that resonates with your season, or a shirt that makes you laugh. Wear it daily, hold it close and remember this important fact:

You might not be where you want to be, but God isn’t finished with you yet!
