How It All Started
How It All Started
Birkland Boutique began in the corner of our master bedroom in a tiny 1,000 sq. ft. apartment about six years ago. I was searching for purpose and something creative to focus on while my family and I were rebuilding our lives from the ground up.
Back in 2018, we made the difficult decision to sell our dream home — the one we built, designed, and poured our hearts into — to cover a mound of debt and start over. Even though we were grateful for the ability to do so, it didn’t ease the sting of loss or disappointment.
My husband, our two kids, our cat, and I moved back into an apartment — the same way our marriage began, only this time with a few more challenges in tow. It was a season of testing, refining, and learning to trust God again.
Through that struggle, God was rebuilding our lives — stronger, sweeter, and with deeper purpose. Out of that season, Birkland Boutique was born: a faith-based Christian boutique rooted in hope, renewal, and the reminder that God isn’t finished yet.
What started as a small space in our apartment has grown into a full Christian apparel boutique in Deer Park, WA, offering faith-inspired t-shirts, hoodies, crewnecks, and oversized tees designed to bring encouragement and comfort.
I’ll never forget the day we moved into our new home on five acres, surrounded by mountains in every direction — mountains I prayed for. Every view reminds me of God’s faithfulness, His strength, and His ability to move mountains, even when things seem impossible.
That’s why my signature design and necklace is called “Moving Mountains.” It’s a symbol of faith, perseverance, and the promise that nothing is impossible with God.
If you’re in a season where life feels heavy, hold on to hope. God is still writing your story. Keep your eyes on the mountains, keep trusting Him, and never forget — He’s not done yet.
“Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed,
you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move.
Nothing will be impossible for you.” — Matthew 17:20-21
