Sometimes the Sweetest Moments Come at the End of the Day

There are some days that just start out feeling hard.

You know the kind.

You’re not feeling your best, your emotions are a little all over the place, and somehow everything feels just a little harder than it should.

That was my day.

I Almost Closed Early

It was a slow day at the shop. Everything was clean, and there was nothing left to do.

I found myself literally pacing around the store thinking, What am I doing?

I could close early.

My boys and I had a fun movie night planned, and honestly, I was ready to just go home and let the day be over.

So I decided I was going to close at 3.

But before I did, I prayed one simple prayer:

“Lord, if anyone is going to come in after I close, would You please send them in before 3?”

And then...

About ten minutes before 3, a woman walked through the door.

God Answered a Very Simple Prayer

She ended up buying four shirts for her sister-in-law and mother-in-law, who were throwing her a baby shower.

And I just thought, How sweet is that?

What a thoughtful thing to do for the people she loves.

Not long after she left, another customer came in and bought a shirt.

And suddenly, it was 3:30.

I had planned to close at 3, but instead, God had answered my very simple little prayer.

He knew someone was coming.

He knew I would have missed her if I had left.

And He reminded me that sometimes we just need to stay a little longer.

Maybe Don't Give Up on the Day Yet

Sometimes I think those are the moments God uses to remind us:

I see you.
I hear you.
I know.

Sometimes the blessing comes at the end of the day.

Sometimes the day starts hard and messy and doesn't look like it's going anywhere good, and then God does something special.

A little God kiss.

A little reminder that He is present.

Not every hard day ends with something big or dramatic. Sometimes His reminder is incredibly simple.

Sometimes it's a customer walking through the door.

Sometimes it's a conversation.

Sometimes it's an unexpected opportunity.

And sometimes it's simply knowing that God saw exactly what you needed in that moment.

Keep Your Eyes Open

So if today hasn't gone the way you hoped, maybe don't give up on it just yet.

Keep your eyes open.

Keep your heart willing.

Be patient.

You never know what God may still have planned for the next hour, the next conversation, or the next person who walks through the door.

Because sometimes the sweetest moments come in the last few minutes of the day.
